You should avoid visiting it during the monsoons, from the months of mid-May to September, as travelling by ship becomes quite challenging during this time. However, some islands like Agatti and Bangaram can be visited even during the monsoon.

Lakshadweep Island enjoys a pleasant weather during summers. The temperature during the summers ranges from 22°C to 33°C. This is a great time to enjoy the various activities like water sports on the island.

Although visiting Lakshadweep Island can be great fun throughout the year, it become quite inaccessible during the monsoon. The monsoon season in the island lasts from mid-May to September. However, not all of Lakshadweep is affected by the monsoon. Islands like Agatti and Bangaram are accessible through flights from Kochi. The only mode of transport from the islands of Agatti and Bangaram is a helicopter. However, no flight or helicopter can reach the islands of Minicoy, Kadmat and Kavaratti during the monsoon.

How to Reach Lakshadweep
Lakshadweep Island is accessible both by air and sea. However, Kochi in Kerala is looked upon as the gateway to Lakshadweep.
By Air : Flights are operated from Kochi to Agatti and Bangaram islands in Lakshadweep. From Agatti, boats are available to Kavaratti and Kadmat during fair season from October to May. Helicopter transfers are also available from Agatti to Bangaram Island Resort during monsoon and to Kavarati throughout the year. It takes approximately one hour and thirty minutes from Cochin to Agatti.
By Sea : Several passenger ships are available from Cochin to Lakshadweep and vice-versa. The entire journey takes almost 14 to 18 hours, depending on the island chosen for the journey. Different classes of accommodation are available inside the ship, with a doctor available on call on board.
