What you’ll find on board the Silver Shadow

Silversea is a cruise line that requires no introduction to seasoned cruisers. Synonymous with luxury, their fleet of 10 ships specialise in intimate and friendly experiences with a focus on relaxation and breath-taking itineraries.
One of the best examples of their dedication to first-class amenities is the Silver Shadow. Regularly found in the waters of the Northern Pacific, if you’re looking for a luxury Alaskan cruise then you’ll struggle to find anything more opulent. Here’s just a small taster of what you’ll find on board.

Reception and Lobby
When you step on board the Silver Shadow, you won’t be met by the traditional multi-story atrium. Instead you’ll enter a classy reception area that will transport you back to the 1930s with dark wood panelling complemented by soft shades of blue and green. Proving to be functional rather than just aesthetically pleasing, here you’ll find the Reception Desk where you can book your shore excursions and the ship’s International Language Ambassador, who is trained to speak to guests in several languages.
Connoisseur’s Corner
If you’re partial to a classic cigar with a cognac in hand, then settle yourself into this tucked-away smoking room. Dimly lit with soft mood lighting and decorated with dark wood panels, the comfy leather-backed chairs are the perfect spot to enjoy a night cap.
Complimentary fitness classes
On Deck 10, guests will find a fully-equipped gym with a range of fitness machinery that covers all areas of the body. You can even book sessions with a personal trainer but the main advantage is the complimentary yoga, Pilates, sunrise walks and fitness seminars.

Up on Deck 8 you’ll find a seawater swimming pool with a controlled temperature that perfectly complements the climate of your itinerary. Alongside it, you will find two heated Jacuzzis as well as lounge chairs, two rinse-off glass-encircled showers and jogging track.
Enrichment activities
One of the most popular pastimes onboard any Silversea cruise is its enrichment programme. These can take the form of language and dance classes, fitness seminars or art lectures. Every ship also has its own onboard Destination Consultant, who are there to share their regional expertise with guests.
Internet café
Silversea has created a room on board the Silver Shadow that is more than just an internet café. Aside from PCs, you’ll also find CD burners, headphones, digital camera media readers, and complimentary black and white laser printing.
Ocean-view accommodation
All 191 accommodations are ocean-view suites, with eight categories available. Every suite is timeless and elegant in its design, making use of soft hues such as burgundy, beige, blue and brown. The Owner’s Suite is the top tier, and comes complete with a veranda with patio furniture, walk-in wardrobe, free Wi-Fi, plus a separate dining and bar area.
